About Me
Hey, I’m April. I write things. Sometimes they’re funny, sometimes they’re devastating, and usually they’re both.
I’m a middle aged young adult (which is rude, because I only just figured out how to be a person). I’ve spent my life collecting strange, tragic, and accidentally hilarious experiences, most of which I did not sign up for but now make excellent stories.
I’ve been a public school teacher for almost twenty years, which means I can teach American history, fix a Chromebook, and intercept a glowing lap-phone situation all at the same time. I talk a lot, I write a lot, and I’m an external processor who learned that from my therapist, who is a goddess.
Loftinland started as my classroom nickname, but really it’s just… me. The whole vibe. The place where I ramble, overshare, laugh, cry, spiral a little, and try to make sense of being a human.
If you like stories about trauma, resilience, healing, identity, teaching, childhood chaos, and learning to love yourself later than expected, then welcome. You’re in the right place.
